Job summary

Egis is seeking seasonal interns for Lisle and Chicago, IL, to join our civil engineering teams. You will assist with field inspections, surveying, and documentation under the guidance of licensed engineers, contributing to diverse infrastructure projects.

This internship offers exposure to transportation, rail, water, and environmental projects within a global engineering leader, with opportunities for growth and career development.

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering or pursuing BS in Civil Engineering.
  • Basic math and numerical ability required.
  • Proficient computer skills and software literacy.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects and monitors field work to ensure plans/specs are followed.
  • Checks lines, grades, dimensions, elevations with surveying equipment.
  • Calculates payments due contractors for work completed.
  • Collaborates with Project Engineers and contractors on progress and issues.
  • Ensures highway work zones and traffic control meet contract requirements.
  • Tests and/or samples materials for conformance.
  • Reports to licensed professional engineer for approvals.
