Construction Inspectors (Remote Site Locations) (Biotech)

GPI is looking for motivated Construction Inspectors with experience in bridges, roads, canals, utilities, and multi-use trail projects to join our team across various locations in Ohio. Responsibilities:

1. Perform daily field inspections and observations of contractors' work on heavy highway and/or bridge construction projects, including earthwork, subgrade, asphalt, concrete, reinforcing steel, structural steel, MOT, safety devices, and utilities.
2. Measure, compute, record, and maintain contract quantities for payments.
3. Read and interpret project plans, specifications, and standards.
4. Conduct or observe material sampling and testing according to project standards and specifications.
5. Ensure contractors' work and materials meet standards and specifications.
6. Document daily project progress, including work performed, conformance, manpower, equipment, contract quantities, and extra work.
7. Record project progress, materials, and documentation in SiteManager and ProjectWise.
8. Identify and communicate project issues to managers and contractors.
9. Assess and report unsafe conditions to the contractor.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Five (5) years of field experience in bridge, roadway construction, concrete, soils, and pavement sampling, testing, and inspection, especially on ODOT and local agency projects.
• All applicable ODOT certifications.
• Experience with ODOT documentation, inspection reports, and use of Field Manager/Field Book.
• Knowledge of AASHTO, FHWA, and ODOT standards, policies, and procedures.
