Construction Inspectors (Remote Site Locations) (Biotech)

GPI is looking for motivated Construction Inspectors with experience in bridges, roads, canals, utilities, and multi-use trail projects to join our team across various locations in West Virginia, primarily from our Martinsburg, WV office. We seek candidates with a strong work ethic, a desire to learn, teamwork skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform daily field inspections and observations of contractor work on heavy highway and/or bridge construction projects, including earthwork, subgrade, asphalt, concrete, reinforcing steel, structural steel, MOT, safety devices, and utilities.
2. Measure, compute, record, and maintain contract quantities for contractor payments.
3. Read and interpret project plans, specifications, and standards.
4. Conduct or observe material sampling and testing according to project standards and specifications.
5. Ensure contractor work and materials meet standards and specifications.
6. Document daily project progress, including work performed, conformance, manpower, equipment, contract quantities, and extra work.
7. Record project data into SiteManager and ProjectWise.
8. Identify and communicate project issues to managers and contractors.
9. Assess and report unsafe conditions to the contractor.

Qualifications:

• Must possess a WVTRET Certification (any level 1-5) or obtain one within 6 months of hire.
• Previous construction inspection experience.
• Certification in WVDOH Material Testing programs is a plus but not required.
• Familiarity with WVDOH SiteManager and ProjectWise applications.
• Ability to work independently or with a team.
• Availability to work contractor hours, including day/night shifts and weekends, as necessary.
