Job summary

EBA Engineering, Inc. is seeking Construction Inspectors to join our Anne Arundel County pavement team. Inspect sites including roadways and bridges to verify compliance with designs and quality standards.

You will document deviations, coordinate with senior staff, and help review plans to ensure safety requirements are met. The role requires a valid driver’s license, 3–10 years of inspection experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• 3–10 years of construction inspection experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; OSHA 10 and MARTCP certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction sites (roads, bridges, tunnels, facilities) for design adherence and quality.

EBA Engineering, Inc. (EBA) is in search of Construction Inspectors to join our Anne Arundel County pavement team!

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

In your role as a Construction Inspector, your primary duties will include:

• Conducting thorough inspections of construction sites, including roadways, bridges, tunnels, and facilities, to verify adherence to design specifications and quality standards
• Documenting and reporting any deviations, defects, or issues discovered during inspections
• Collaborating with senior inspectors and project managers to confirm that construction activities meet safety regulations and project requirements
• Assisting with the review and interpretation of construction plans, special provisions, and technical documents
• Maintaining clear and accurate inspection records and reports for compliance and reporting purposes
• Learning and applying industry-specific software and tools for inspection and documentation
• Participating in team meetings and safety briefings to foster a safe, collaborative work environment
• Communicating effectively with contractors, project stakeholders, and other team members to address construction-related concerns and provide guidance

CORE REQUIREMENTS:

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and abilities:

• A valid driver's license and clean driving record
• 3-10 years of experienceA high school diploma or a high school equivalent certification
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• MD SHA Temporary Traffic Control Manager; Maryland Department of Environment Responsible Personnel; OSHA 10 Construction Safety Training; and Mid-Atlantic Region Technician Certification Program (MARTCP) Soils & Aggregate, Asphalt Field Testing Technician Grade I, Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I, and Pavement Marking.
• Proficiency with eConstruction applications, such as Fulcrum
• Proficiency in math and English
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Able to walk over rough and uneven terrain; stand for up to 12 hours a day on occasion; and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting; using hands to grasp and reach; raising hands above the head; sitting; climbing; and balancing
• Able to work in various weather conditions and terrains
