Job summary

KCI Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Construction Inspector III to work on active roadway and bridge projects in the Kenston to Newbern, North Carolina region. The role emphasizes detailed documentation, field inspections, safety compliance, and coordination with clients and contractors.

The position requires at least 2 years in construction, the ability to read plans, and strong reporting skills. Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and possible night shifts is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in construction.
• Highschool or GED required.
• Ability to understand construction plans, specifications, and procedures.
• Basic math skills including geometry and trigonometry.
• Read, write, and communicate fluently.
• Work effectively as a team member and complete daily reports by hand and computer.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and timely reports documenting construction progress, inspection, and testing results.
• Record and report daily forms per project requirements.
• Review all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting.
• Maintain necessary records, measure field quantities, conduct field tests, and other tests to determine contractors’ compliance with contract specifications.
• Submit accurate timesheets, mileage, and expense reports on time each week.
• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, staff, and supervisors.
• Resolve problems at the lowest level.
• Perform field construction inspection and documentation services on various projects.
• Review job site safety daily and take immediate action to document and resolve issues.
• Understand and adhere to OSHA Safety Standards and corporate policies.
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and client requirements.
