Job summary

Larson Design Group (LDG) is seeking an experienced Transportation Construction Inspector (TCI) to support an upcoming project in Bloomsburg, PA. You will inspect, document, and report on transportation and civil construction activities, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards.

This role requires at least two years of inspection experience with PennDOT or related projects; NICET Level II+ and ACI preferred, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of two years of PennDOT/PA Turnpike or related inspection experience.
• NICET Level II+ and ACI preferred; valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, observes, and documents construction activities for transportation and civil projects.
• Uses software to document observations and creates inspection reports.
• Continuously monitors work to ensure timely project completion.
• Interacts professionally with clients, contractors, and agency representatives.
• Communicates information, responds to inquiries, and resolves field issues.
• Maintains required certifications and licenses.
• Utilizes references for inspection of structural, concrete, earthwork, building, and mechanical components.

Your Opportunity + Impact

LDG is currently seeking an experienced Transportation Construction Inspector (TCI) to support an upcoming project.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspects, observes, and documents construction activities for Transportation and /or Civil projects.
• Uses various computer software programs to document observations and creates inspection reports.
• Continuously monitors work of team to ensure timely completion of project.
• Interacts in a professional manner with clients, contractors, sub-contractors, government agency representatives, and other parties on a regular basis.
• Communicates information, responds to inquiries, and helps resolve field issues to ensure successful completion of projects.
• Responsible for obtaining and maintaining required certifications.
• Utilizes technical references appropriately for the inspection of structural, concrete, earthwork, building, and mechanical components.

Education and Experience

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience with PennDOT, PA Turnpike, or related construction inspection experience;.
• Licensures/Certifications: NICET Level II or higher in Highway Construction, NECEPT Bituminous Field & Concrete, and ACI preferred. Must possess valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficient in CDS NeXtGen or Kahua software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook).
• Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet project deadlines effectively.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a project team.
