Job summary

Larson Design Group is seeking an experienced Transportation Construction Inspector (TCI) to support an upcoming project in the United States. You will inspect, document, and monitor construction activities for Transportation and Civil projects, interfacing with clients, contractors, and agencies to ensure quality and compliance.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of PennDOT or PA Turnpike inspection experience, NICET II+ in relevant areas, and proficiency with CDS NeXtGen or Kahua.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years' PennDOT/PA Turnpike inspection experience.
• NICET Level II+ in Highway Construction, NECEPT Bituminous/Concrete, and ACI preferred; valid driver's license.
• Proficiency with CDS NeXtGen and Kahua software.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and document construction activities on Transportation and Civil projects.
• Use software to document observations and prepare inspection reports.
• Monitor work to ensure timely project completion.
• Interact professionally with clients, contractors, sub-contractors, government representatives, and others.
• Communicate information, respond to inquiries, and resolve field issues.
• Maintain required certifications.
• Use technical references for inspection of structures, concrete, earthwork, and mechanical components.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspects, observes, and documents construction activities for Transportation and /or Civil projects.
• Uses various computer software programs to document observations and creates inspection reports.
• Continuously monitors work of team to ensure timely completion of project.
• Interacts in a professional manner with clients, contractors, sub-contractors, government agency representatives, and other parties on a regular basis.
• Communicates information, responds to inquiries, and helps resolve field issues to ensure successful completion of projects.
• Responsible for obtaining and maintaining required certifications.
• Utilizes technical references appropriately for the inspection of structural, concrete, earthwork, building, and mechanical components.

Education and Experience

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience with PennDOT, PA Turnpike, or related construction inspection experience;.
• Licensures/Certifications: NICET Level II or higher in Highway Construction, NECEPT Bituminous Field & Concrete, and ACI preferred. Must possess valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficient in CDS NeXtGen or Kahua software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook).
• Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet project deadlines effectively.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a project team.
