Job summary

Pennoni is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspection - Supervisor for a multi-year PennDOT District 6-0 project. You will supervise field inspections of roads and bridges, review drawings and specs, and coordinate with contractors and the project team.

Strong math, communication skills, and outdoor work readiness are essential. The role requires a valid driver’s license and at least six years of related inspection experience, with substitutions allowed for higher education.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Valid Driver's License is required.
• Six years minimum of transportation, highway or bridge construction inspection experience.
• Note: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management may substitute for four years of experience, or an Associate's degree may substitute for two years.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to prepare Contractor Work Authorizations, Estimates and Work Orders in PennDOT’s ECMS system.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, math skills, and ability to work well in a team on one or more projects.
• Willingness to work outdoors and be physically able to perform field work.
• Familiarity with PennDOT 408 specifications, applications, standard drawings and publications.

Responsibilities

• Preparing daily field reports with photos, documents and sketches using PennDOT’s PSA mobile app or ECMS.
• Working safely outdoors in variable weather, near heavy equipment and in highway work zones.

Preferred Attributes

• Prior experience in PennDOT and/or PA Turnpike Highway and Bridge Construction Inspection.
• Knowledge of PennDOT mobile applications, ECMS Wave 5 Construction.
• Additional certifications including NICET (Highway Construction) Level II or highter, ACI, PennDOT Concrete Technician Certification, NECEPT Bituminous Field Technician, OSHA 10 hour, ECMS Wave 5
