Construction Inspector

Salary: $22.16/hour; 37.5 hours/week

Minimum Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or GED, supplemented by specialized advanced training in building construction, building inspection, or a related field.
2. Two (2) years of experience in housing construction and/or inspection.
3. Valid South Carolina driver’s license.

Job Responsibilities

The Construction Inspector, under limited supervision, manages the construction, rehabilitation, and inspection of houses financed through the City and administered by the Community Services Division. Responsibilities include:

• Construction and rehabilitation project management.
• Housing and zoning code inspection and enforcement.
• Coordination and oversight of services provided by outside contractors.
• General maintenance of the City Center building.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
