Position Overview

TxDOT's Georgetown Area Office in Georgetown, TX, is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Construction Inspector I, II, III, or IV. The inspector ensures construction work adheres to plans and specifications, overseeing projects like roadways, bridges, traffic signals, airports, and related structures. Responsibilities include inspecting construction methods and workmanship, acting as a consultant on work progress and problem resolution, and possibly serving as the sole inspector on smaller projects or assisting with large, complex projects. The position reports to a licensed professional engineer and involves contact with contractors. Tasks may include performing materials tests and manufacturing process inspections at fabrication sites. Employees at this level follow standard practices with minimal supervision.

Salary Range

• Inspector I: $45,521 - $71,055/year
• Inspector II: $48,244 - $76,028/year
• Inspector III: $51,158 - $81,351/year
• Inspector IV: $54,278 - $87,046/year

Additional Details

• Work Location: Georgetown, TX
• Travel: Up to 10%
• Schedule: Day shift, Monday - Friday, with possible night work
