Job summary

Russell Marine LLC is seeking an HR Generalist to support the full HR life cycle, including talent management, organizational development, benefits administration, and regulatory compliance. The role spans multiple HR functions to support employees and management and foster a positive work environment.

Key duties include handling inquiries, payroll liaison, benefits audits, records maintenance, I-9 compliance, onboarding, unemployment claims, leave management, and open enrollment support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or Business Administration or related field.
• Three years of HR experience in the construction industry.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Handle employment inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors and route complex matters as needed.
• Communicate with Payroll on employee changes to ensure accurate updates.
• Reconcile benefit deductions for accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain employee records for hires and terminations per legal requirements.
• Keep electronic benefit and personnel files up to date and accessible.
• Maintain I-9 forms and audit for federal compliance.
• Report new hires/terminations to OAG portal; document court orders and enter child support amounts.
• Support onboarding via career fairs and onboarding processes.
• Address unemployment agency inquiries and respond in a timely manner.
• Oversee leave, FMLA, ADA claims and support workers’ comp with Risk & Compliance.
• Assist with open enrollment and benefits audits.
• Conduct exit interviews and manage terminations professionally.
• Provide verification of employment letters.
