Job summary

Independence Fire in Lester, PA is seeking a results‑driven HR Generalist to manage recruitment, employee relations, and benefits administration. This 100% on-site role partners with leadership to implement HR programs and ensure compliance across both union and non‑union staff.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of HR experience, strong coaching skills, and a proactive approach to solving workplace issues in a busy construction/industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive HR experience with HR Generalist focus.
• Experience in construction, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
• Experience with recruitment, benefits, payroll, and compliance.
• SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP/PHR/SPHR certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day HR needs including recruitment and onboarding.
• Coach managers on performance, disciplinary actions, and career development.
• Assist with compensation planning, salary benchmarking, and merit reviews.
• Maintain HR records, HRIS, and ensure compliance with laws.
• Support employee relations and investigations across all levels.
• Administer benefits and Open Enrollment; supervise leave programs.
