Job summary

Jobot seeks an experienced HR Operations & Accounting Specialist to join our California construction team. This hands-on role combines HR and accounting responsibilities, including HRIS, SAGE, benefits, payroll processing, and quarterly close.

You will manage onboarding, employee records, open enrollment, wage garnishments, and cost reports, while maintaining confidentiality and supporting multiple projects with advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar HR/ops role within the construction industry.
• Proficient with HRIS, SAGE, and advanced Excel.
• Strong knowledge of onboarding, termination, and employee tracking processes.
• Experience handling confidential employee files and sensitive information.
• Experience with wage garnishment and deductions.
• Experience processing payroll and overseeing quarterly close.
• Experience with open enrollment and managing employee benefits.
• Familiarity with EDD and relevant regulations.
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to continuous learning and cross-training.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of HR operations including onboarding, termination, and employee tracking.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee files and sensitive information.
• Coordinate open enrollment and manage employee benefits, garnishments, and deductions.
• Process payroll accurately and timely with proper documentation.
• Oversee the quarterly close process and ensure financial data accuracy.
• Assist with job costing and provide reports on labor and material costs per project.
• Utilize HRIS and SAGE to streamline HR and accounting workflows.
• Support various projects as needed and provide cross-functional assistance.
• Collaborate with the EDD on relevant matters.
• Engage in cross-training to deepen understanding of business operations.
• Produce comprehensive financial reports using advanced Excel.
