Job summary

ETIC is expanding its construction team in Pleasant Hill, CA and seeks a Construction Heavy Equipment Operator (Environmental & Civil) to handle excavators, bulldozers, and related gear on demolition, earthwork, and underground utility projects.

You will perform pre- and post-operation inspections, coordinate with crew leads, and support teammates to maintain productive operations on remote sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of verifiable heavy equipment operating experience.
• General equipment maintenance knowledge to assess and address malfunctions.
• Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal communication and comprehension skills.
• Ability to pass pre-employment and annual physicals (including drug screening).
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment (excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, etc.) on construction projects.

We are growing in Northern California and will be hiring an experienced, competent, and reliable Construction Heavy Equipment Operator to meet our expanding client base’s needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely and efficiently operating small/midsize/large heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, skip loaders, forklifts, mechanized trenchers, etc., for various construction projects involving demolition, earthwork, and underground utilities.
• Performing pre- and post-operation inspections of heavy equipment in accordance with standard safety and company policy measures.
• Monitoring and maintaining equipment, as needed throughout operation, to ensure proper performance and safety and to avoid down time.
• Working closely with and under the direction of a crew lead/foreman/superintendent.
• Performing general labor tasks, as needed, to support projects when operating heavy equipment is halted. May include use of hand tools, underground and above-ground utility installation, sweeping, equipment spotting, and traffic control.
• Ensuring that all field procedures and safety protocols are followed in compliance with company- and client-specific requirements.
• Consistently meet attendance, punctuality, productivity, and performance expectations.
• Demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, accountability, and a positive attitude.
• Treat coworkers, clients, inspectors, subcontractors, vendors, and the public with professionalism and respect.
• Provide support to crew members while helping maintain a productive, collaborative work environment.
• Reporting to job sites as directed. Travel and work at remote locations requiring out-of-town stays for periods of a few days to several weeks at a time may be required.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

• 5+ years of verifiable heavy equipment operating experience.Pay commensurate with knowledge, capabilities, and experience and skills on various types of equipment.
• General equipment maintenance and repair knowledge required to assess and address malfunctions.
• Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal communication and comprehension skills.
• Consistent professionalism and positivity.
• Ability and willingness to work effectively in a team environment.
• Valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass pre-employment and annual physicals, including alcohol/drug screening.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• HAZWOPER 40-hour training preferred.

Hourly range: $32 - $48

Salary Information

$30.25 - $42.3 Hourly Wage
