Role Definition
The Assistant Construction H & S Coordinator's primary role is to assist the Construction Health & Safety Manager with all aspects of construction safety & health management.
Responsibilities
- Promote value-based safety to construction field teams.
- Provide leadership and assist in management of all aspects of safety & health at multiple construction projects, ensuring regulatory compliance with company H&S requirements by employees and subcontractors.
- Assist in planning and execution of corporate and project Safety & Health initiatives in order to ensure a safe, healthy, and incident-free workplace.
- Setup employees for pre-access requirements required by client specifications.
- Prepare all necessary documentation required by OSHA and Client specification.
- Conduct periodic safety audits and document corrective actions.
- Conduct accident investigations and prepare reporting in accordance with the Client and company requirements, maintain OSHA 300 logs or equivalents.
- Assist in maintaining company compliance with Third-Party Prequalification Providers such as ISNetworld, Avetta, Veriforce, Highwire, etc.
- Complete required safety information for Client pre-qualification questionnaires and/or documentation.
- Assist in reviewing and clarifying bid documents for project safety requirements.
- Assist in selecting and pre-qualifying subcontractors for work on projects.
- Coordinate and maintain company compliance with GHS standards.
- Maintain & update employee safety training database.
- Assist in the evaluation & maintenance of fall protection equipment.

Minimum Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of Construction Safety Standards, including 29 CFR 1926
- One (1) year Health and Safety experience on construction projects
- Bachelor’s degree in health and safety, Engineering, or Construction Management
- Proficient in Windows-based platform and basic computer skills.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the year for completion of audits & to fulfill field staffing needs.
