Job summary

Carter Machinery, Inc. is hiring a Construction GPS Field Technician for SITECH Chesapeake to install and service machine guidance systems on earthmoving equipment.

You will troubleshoot complex issues, demonstrate capabilities to customers, and advise on best practices in construction processes. We seek candidates with 5+ years of field experience with machine control systems (Trimble/Topcon/Leica), strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience operating, installing and troubleshooting Machine Control Systems.
• Experience with OEM heavy equipment manufacturers including Caterpillar, John Deere, Komatsu, Volvo, Hitachi, Weiler, BOMAG and GOMACO.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot machine guidance systems on earthmoving and paving equipment.
• Perform complex troubleshooting and service repairs; escalate technical issues.
• Demonstrate system capabilities to customers.
• Serve as consultant on best practices and construction processes.
• Act as technical liaison between SITECH and Trimble.
