Job summary

CFS is seeking a Financial Controller to own the financial performance of complex construction projects, reporting directly to executive leadership and driving financial excellence across the organization.

This 100% onsite role oversees budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, job costing, revenue recognition, and controls, while partnering with operations and project managers to improve profitability and risk management. A construction accounting background and Sage 300 experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Construction industry accounting or financial management experience required.
• Strong background in job costing, project accounting, and construction financial reporting.
• Experience with Sage 300 or similar construction-focused ERP/accounting software.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and performance analysis.
• Review and monitor job-cost accounting, project profitability, revenue recognition, and work-in-progress reporting.
• Partner with operations and project management teams to identify financial risks, margin concerns, and cost overruns.
• Oversee accounts receivable, collections, accounts payable, vendor payments, and cash management activities.
• Maintain and audit financial controls, policies, procedures, and compliance processes.
• Develop management dashboards and reporting tools that provide actionable business insights.
