Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Permanent Controller to join our construction-focused finance team in California. You will oversee corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budgets, forecasts, and internal controls, partnering with management to drive strategic decisions.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in accounting/finance, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with QuickBooks; a CPA is a plus. This role offers full benefits, a 401(k) match, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance; Master’s or CPA a plus.
• 5+ years of overall accounting/finance experience.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation.
• Develop and implement financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements.
• Manage local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
• Coordinate regulatory reporting preparation.
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
• Manage invested assets according to policies and investment guidelines.
• Review month-end closing activities including GL maintenance and reconciliations.
• Enhance and implement financial systems, processes, tools and controls.
• Serve as a key contact for external auditors; manage audits.
