Job summary

Park Square Homes seeks an experienced Assistant Controller to lead the finance team in our Orlando-based operations. This hands-on accounting leadership role requires overseeing the general ledger, close processes, and reporting, with a strong focus on construction and homebuilding accounting.

The ideal candidate collaborates with Controllers and field teams to ensure accurate, timely financial information.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
Minimum 5–7 years progressive accounting experience, with 3+ years in residential homebuilding/construction.
Leadership with supervisory or review responsibility over accounting staff; CPA preferred.
Strong GAAP knowledge and construction accounting principles (job costing, WIP, % completion).
Experience with construction ERP systems (Sage 300 Timberline or similar).
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, modeling; large datasets).

Responsibilities

Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close with accounting team oversight.
Prepare and present GAAP-compliant monthly financial statements with variance analysis.
Review journal entries and reconciliations for accuracy and completeness.
Perform detailed financial analysis by job, community, and division; identify risks and opportunities.
Manage job cost tracking, budgets vs. actuals, and WIP schedules; ensure proper cost allocation.
Support land development, RSV calculations, and cash flow planning with cross-functional teams.
