Job summary

EMCOR Group, Inc. is seeking a Controller to lead day-to-day accounting operations and support the CFO in delivering accurate, timely financial reporting.

You will oversee the general ledger, close processes, project accounting, billing, payroll coordination, cash management, internal controls, audits, and tax reporting. You will partner with operational leaders to improve processes, enhance financial visibility, manage risk, and develop the accounting team in a collaborative, service-oriented

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Seven years of progressive accounting experience, including full accounting cycle and financial statements.
• Experience leading month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, internal controls, and audit support.
• Experience supervising accounting personnel and strong GAAP knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with an ERP or construction accounting system (Viewpoint Vista preferred).
• Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, forecasts, and variance analyses.
• Oversee general ledger integrity, chart of accounts, and reporting systems.
• Manage project accounting: job-cost, WIP, revenue recognition, change orders, closeout.
• Collaborate with project managers to review financial performance and forecast accuracy.
• Supervise accounts payable/receivable, payroll coordination, cash receipts, and disbursements.
• Develop and monitor internal controls and accounting procedures; coordinate audits.
• Support tax and regulatory reporting and compliance with CFO and external advisors.
