Job summary

Russo Corporation is seeking a dependable Construction Field Technician to support active job sites through hands-on fieldwork, quality checks, and coordination with project teams.

The ideal candidate will read plans, follow specifications, and help ensure work is completed safely and on schedule in a fast-paced environment. Outdoor work and driving to project sites are expected; OSHA 30 is preferred and may be pursued within the first year.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
  • Experience in construction, field service, inspection, surveying, or related hands-on work.
  • Ability to read and follow project instructions, drawings, and technical documents such as blueprints.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Strong attention to detail with good problem-solving and communication skills.
  • OSHA 30-hour certificate is preferred but must be obtained within the first year.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varied weather and site conditions.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials or equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field-based construction tasks per project plans, specs, and safety requirements.
  • Assist with site setup, layout, inspections, measurements, documentation, and quality checks.
  • Perform pile and anchor load tests.
  • Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and materials on active job sites.
  • Support project teams by identifying issues, reporting findings, and helping resolve field challenges.
  • Follow safety procedures and promote a safe work environment for self and others.
  • Record notes, photos, and field data for project tracking and reporting.
  • Communicate professionally with supervisors, contractors, clients, and team members.
  • Perform field calculations of grades, cut/fill, and offsets for manholes and inlets.

In this role, you will help ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and in alignment with project specifications and timelines. The ideal candidate is comfortable working outdoors, enjoys varied daily tasks, and takes pride in delivering reliable support in a fast‑paced construction environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform field‑based construction tasks in accordance with project plans, specifications, and safety requirements.
  • Assist with site setup/layout, inspections, measurements, documentation, and quality checks.
  • Perform pile and anchor load tests.
  • Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and materials used on active job sites.
  • Support project teams by identifying issues, reporting findings, and helping resolve field challenges.
  • Follow all safety procedures and promote a safe work environment for self and others.
  • Record accurate notes, photos, and field data for project tracking and reporting.
  • Communicate professionally with supervisors, contractors, clients, and other team members.
  • Perform field calculations of grades for pipelines, cut and fill for grading, set grades and offsets for manholes, inlets and other unforeseen field adjustments.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or vocational education is a plus.
  • Experience in construction, field service, inspection, surveying, utility work, or a related hands‑on environment preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow project instructions, basic drawings, and technical documentation, such as blueprints.
  • Proficient in Microsoft products and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Strong attention to detail with good problem‑solving and communication skills.
  • OSHA 30‑hour certificate is preferred but must be obtained within first year of employment.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in a variety of weather and site conditions.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials or equipment as required by the role.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required.
  • Commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, and professional conduct.
