Qualifications

• Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases.
• Math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assists in the review of engineering drawings.
• Under supervision, carries out assignments in preparing and assembling specifications.
• Participates in engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks.
• Collects and analyzes data using established procedures and performs routine calculations.
• Prepares sections of reports under the close review of a professional.
• Reviews shop drawings for conformance; assists in recordkeeping and progress reports; observes on-site procedures; collects samples for QC testing.
• Performs data acquisition and analysis; researches feasibility of alternative design approaches and site conditions.
• Prepares material for reports and permit applications; gathers information and drafts outlines.
• Performs engineering calculations.
• Performs field observations of construction where appropriate.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
