Qualifications

• Must have completed 30 hours towards a related degree from an accredited college/university by the start of the internship (Summer 2027).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; basic data entry into spreadsheets/databases; willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist in reviewing engineering drawings and prepare specifications under supervision.
• Conduct engineering investigations and plan work by completing well-defined tasks; perform routine calculations.
• Prepare assigned sections of reports under close review by an experienced professional.
• Review shop drawings for conformance with specifications; assist in recordkeeping and progress reports; observe on-site procedures.
• Perform data acquisition and analysis; research feasibility of design approaches and site conditions.
• Prepare materials for reports and permit applications; gather information and prepare outlines.
• Perform engineering calculations.
• Conduct field observations of construction where appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Construction Field Engineering Intern to join our Oklahoma City, OK office.

Your Role

• Assists in the review of engineering drawings. Under supervisions, carries out specific assignments in preparing and assembling specifications.
• Participates in conducting engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks. These tasks may include collection and analysis of data using established procedures, performance of routine calculations, and participation in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions.
• Prepares assigned sections of reports working under the close review of an experienced professional.
• Participates on projects involving construction activities by reviewing shop drawings for conformance with easily interpreted specifications; assists in recordkeeping and in generating progress reports; observes on-site construction procedures; and collects samples for quality control testing.
• Performs data acquisition and analysis, researching the feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and/or regulatory agency specifications or regulations.
• Prepares material for reports and permit applications, gathering information, writing rough outline, and/or preparing work progression documents and graphic presentations.
• Performs engineering calculations.
• Performs field observations of construction where appropriate.
• Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

About You

Additional Information

Expected compensation range is between $25 - $31 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
