Job summary

Caddell Construction seeks a Construction Executive - Governmental to lead multiple projects across diverse domestic locations. You will oversee total construction efforts, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure compliance with design, safety, and quality standards.

Minimum 15 years as a project manager with a high school diploma/GED; a four-year engineering or construction management degree is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Four-year degree in engineering or construction management preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; strong managerial skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the total construction effort for multiple projects to ensure they are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
  • Scale the business by setting clear expectations and managing project team performance with accountability for safety, budget, schedule, and quality.
  • Recruit and staff key office and field positions as needed.
  • Interface with owners, A/E representatives, or subcontractors when required.
  • Ensure adherence to all company, client and project policies and procedures.
  • Oversee project log and documentation files and safety program implementation.
  • Provide direction to planning, scheduling and engineering functions.
  • Assist with mobilization/demobilization of projects and reporting of monthly financial status.
  • Participate in client and project pursuits with Governmental Business Unit.

What You Will Do
  • Oversee the total construction effort for multiple projects to ensure they are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
  • Instrumental in scaling of the business by:
    • Setting clear expectations and managing project team performance through adherence of a high level of accountability amongst team members to safety, budget, schedule, quality and the Caddell Way.
    • Planning, organizing and participating in the recruitment and staffing key office and field positions.
  • If required, assists with interface and problem resolution with owners, A/E representatives or subcontractors.
  • Ensures adherence to all company, client and project policies, procedures, standards, etc.
  • Oversees the maintenance of official project log and documentation files.
  • Oversees the implementation/interpretation of safety programs at all times.
  • Provides direction to planning, scheduling and engineering functions as required.
  • Assists with mobilization/demobilization of projects.
  • Provides oversight of assigned projects with understanding of: owner contract, subcontractor contracts, project billings and ability to report monthly project financial status.
  • Participates in specific client pursuits and project pursuits as requested by executive management with Governmental Business Unit.
  • Participates in project bids or preconstruction efforts as requested by executive management with Governmental Business Unit.
  • Performs additional assignments per executive management's direction.
  • Working Conditions - Construction setting, travel required, full time. Must have the ability to crawl, climb, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend, kneel, crouch, stand for longs periods of time, lift and hold in excess of 50lbs, talk, hear and occasionally sit. Must have the ability to withstand confined spaces and or/extreme heights while negotiating tasks at hand in a safe manner to themselves and/or others. Subject to hot, cold, humid and wet conditions depending on location.
  • Reporting Structure - Vice President - Governmental.

Education / Experience

Minimum high school diploma/GED and 15 years' experience as a project manager required. Four-year degree in engineering or construction management preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Requires excellent technical and management skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Working knowledge of all applicable Caddell processes and procedures. Strong client relations skills are a must. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to use Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook. Must have a deep understanding of the "Caddell way".

While the salary range is typically between $157,100 - $190,000 (we are including premiums that will increase the salary range) annually, applicants are encouraged to share compensation expectations as part of the application process.
