Job summary

RJM Construction, headquartered in the Twin Cities, is seeking an IT Manager with a construction focus to support estimation and preconstruction activities in Golden Valley, MN. The role collaborates with estimators, subcontractors, and project teams on bid setup, takeoffs, and data management.

The position emphasizes strong software skills (Sage, On-Screen Takeoff), attention to detail, and proactive communication to drive accurate estimates and successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Construction Management or related field.
• 2–5 years estimating or commercial construction management experience.
• Ability to read plans and specifications and perform quantity surveys.
• Understanding of CSI codes and building codes.

Responsibilities

• Estimate Start Up – assist in setting up and sending out invitations to bid to subcontractor teams and setting up site visits for bidding purposes.
• Quantity Takeoffs – complete detailed quantity takeoffs for all project scope, review and share quantities with lead estimator for use developing the estimate.
• Estimate Work – assist estimators with Sage estimating software, developing posting sheet, bid day worksheets, basis of estimates, and value engineering worksheets.
• Information processing – manage invite to bid software to monitor subcontractor bid interest and communicate with subcontractors to answer questions and share bidding information.
• Communication – communicate with RJM team, subcontractors, and industry professionals, provide status updates to the preconstruction team.
