Qualifications

• Pursuing BS Degree in Construction Management or related field.
• General building construction knowledge and terminology.
• Previous internship or estimating experience preferred.
• Ability to read plans and specifications.
• Understanding of Construction Systems and CSI codes.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project plans, specs to understand scope.
• Use bid software for subcontractor bids and follow up.
• Attend and support estimate kickoff meetings with teams.
• Perform accurate quantity takeoffs from design documents.
• Obtain information from databases, contractors, suppliers for estimates.
• Review and finalize estimate unit costs reflecting market conditions.
• Prepare estimate worksheets for review with the preconstruction team.
• Correspond with architects/engineers for scope clarity.
• Prepare cost reconciliations to explain variance drivers.
• Stay aware of new industry practices and potential applications.
