Job summary

JRM Construction is seeking a Project Estimator to lead accurate cost estimates from concept through construction documents. You will manage the bid process, prepare detailed take-offs, and coordinate with architects, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and compliant submissions.

The role requires a four-year degree and 3+ years in estimating or related fields, with proficiency in Procore, Timberline, and MS Office. It is a full-time, on-site position in California.

Qualifications

  • Four-year degree and/or at least three years of relevant experience in Estimating, Purchasing, or Quantity Surveying.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate and manage the entire bid process (CM and GC) with detailed bid packages and ensure submissions by all subcontractors.
  • Prepare estimates for Conceptual through Construction Documents with appropriate level of detail.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs and estimate costs of materials, labor, and equipment for the contract.
  • Solicit proposals from subcontractors based on drawings and bid packages.
  • Review design documents for pricing, generate value engineering ideas, and prepare life-cycle costing.
  • Attend client and team meetings to discuss estimates and resolve pricing questions.
