Job summary

The JF Petroleum Group is seeking a Construction Estimator in Lakeland, FL to support preconstruction activities and develop accurate project estimates for diverse fueling infrastructure projects. You will review blueprints, gather subcontractor proposals, compute costs, and collaborate with project managers to ensure awarded costs align with estimates.

Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor’s in Construction Management/Engineering is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in construction estimating.
• Able to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Broad understanding of the Petroleum industry and construction processes.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Review blueprints, specifications, and related documents to derive estimates.
• Gather subcontractor proposals, calculate costs, and build project estimates.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and support preconstruction activities.
• Coordinate with project managers to align costs with estimates.
• Obtain quotes, define scope for subcontractors, and negotiate buyouts.
• Visit sites as needed and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers.
