Job summary

JF Construction Services is seeking an Estimator to lead the full estimate process for diverse construction projects. The role requires strong trade knowledge, effective contractor engagement, and reliability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities include preparing estimates, qualifying subcontractor bids, coordinating with lead estimators, and maintaining organized estimate packages using specialized software. A background in multiple trades and proficient communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of experience in construction estimating or a closely related field.
• Experience qualifying subcontractor bids and scopes of work.
• Proficiency with estimating software and tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate estimates for construction projects across relevant trades and disciplines.
• Qualify subcontractor scope and pricing, ensuring appropriate coverage and competitive bids.
• Reach out to and manage relationships with subcontractors and suppliers throughout the bid process.
• Utilize department estimating tools and software to produce organized, consistent estimate packages.
• Coordinate with Lead Estimators and Sr. Estimators on scope questions, trade gaps, or project-specific challenges.
• Meet project deadlines and communicate proactively when timelines are at risk.
• Continuously build knowledge of trades, materials, and construction methods relevant to company project types.
