Job summary

Grunley Construction, a leading general contractor, seeks an Estimator to join the Estimating department. You will write scopes, perform takeoffs, and manage subcontractor communications across Divisions 4-14 for design-bid-build and design-build bids.

Requirements include a 4-year degree in a related field and minimum 3 years in AEC, with strong Excel/Word skills and constructability input experience. Competitive salaries and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management.
• Minimum of three years of experience in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction field.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Must have extensive knowledge of the construction industry and strong communication and organizational/mathematical skills.
• Ability to read and understand construction documents and provide constructability input.

Responsibilities

• Review project documents and develop subcontractor scopes of work for multiple projects.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to review scope, answer questions, problem-solve, negotiate and ensure proper coverage.
• Perform quantity take-offs, summarize quantities in estimate file, and draft pricing for self-perform work.
• Attend project site visits and pre-proposal meetings.
• Analyze project documents to develop well-written RFIs and identify potential scope gaps.
• Attend networking events and subcontractor visits to develop relationships.
• Coordinate with the estimating team to ensure proper scoping across trades.
• Prepare for bid days with review meetings, y-sheets, and coordination with subcontractors.
