Join Our Team as an Estimator or Assistant Estimator

Are you a detail-oriented professional with a keen interest in construction cost analysis and project planning? Arris Contracting, a leading construction management and planning company, is seeking an Estimator or Assistant Estimator to join our expert team. As an Estimator or Assistant Estimator, you will support our Project Managers, Planning Consultants, and the Cost Estimating team by providing critical cost estimation and analysis services. Primary Responsibilities

1. Project estimation including quantity takeoffs, data entry, receiving quotes on products/services, and cost analysis.
2. Updating the company database by reviewing quotes received on products/services and contractor schedule of values.
3. Communicating effectively with the Owner and A/E team, presenting budgets/estimates, and preparing budget cost comparisons.
4. Developing bids and procurement of subcontractors for construction projects.
5. Quantity takeoff using On-Screen Takeoff (OST) and Vertigraph Siteworx/OS.
6. Preparing project estimates using Sage Estimating.
7. Preparing project cost summaries using Microsoft Excel and Bluebeam Revu.
8. Cost loading a project schedule using Primavera P6.
9. Reviewing change orders or changes to projects.
10. Working closely with Architects and Engineers.

Competencies

• Basic knowledge of construction principles, techniques, and procedures.
• Skilled in the use of computer software including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to read construction project plans and specifications.
• Effective presentation of information in oral, written, and graphic forms.
• Organizing and evaluating information effectively.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Strong math skills with close attention to detail.
• Experience in managing multiple activities and tasks.

Qualifications

4-year college degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field is preferred but not required.

Work Environment: Ability to work in various environments, including office settings and construction sites. Occasional travel to project sites is required.

Compensation:

Expected Salary: $60,000 - $140,000
