Qualifications

About the Role

We are partnered with a reputable DC-area general contractor seeking a Construction Estimator to support a strong pipeline of work across the DMV. This role will focus on commercial interiors, base building, and institutional projects throughout Washington, DC, Northern Virginia, and Maryland.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates from conceptual through GMP/bid phases
• Review drawings/specifications and develop accurate budgets and scopes
• Solicit, analyze, and level subcontractor bids across local trade partners
• Support preparation of competitive proposals and negotiated bids
• Work closely with PMs and field teams to ensure pricing aligns with project execution
• Assist with value engineering and cost-saving strategies
• Maintain relationships with local subcontractors and vendors in the DMV market

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in construction estimating (GC preferred)
• Experience working in the Washington, DC / Northern Virginia / Maryland market
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods and pricing in the DMV
• Proficiency with Bluebeam, Procore, On-Screen Takeoff, Sage, or similar tools
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and bid documents

Required Skills

• Commercial interiors (TI), multifamily, healthcare, or institutional work
• Experience with fast-paced negotiated work and repeat clients
