About Our Client:

Our client based in Tampa Fl. is a well respected commercial general contractor with over 25 years on high end commercial projects throughout the Southeast. Projects range from 5 million to 30 million. With a focus on quality, safety, and client satisfaction, they continue to deliver cutting-edge projects throughout the Southeast. As they expand their operations, they seek a highly skilled Estimator with commercial construction experience to join their team and take charge of project success.

Responsibilities of the Estimator:

• Analyze and interpret project plans, specifications, and requirements.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Review and evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
• Utilize industry-standard estimating software (e.g., ProEst, Sage, Bluebeam) for bid preparation and cost tracking.
• Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans for budget overruns or project delays.
• Stay updated on industry trends, labor costs, and material pricing in the Tampa market.
• Assist in negotiating contracts with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience as a Construction Estimator, with a focus on commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and industry best practices.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Knowledge of the Tampa construction market and local subcontractor relationships is a plus.
