The position involves preparing detailed estimates for commercial projects, reviewing plans, performing quantity take-offs, and developing accurate cost projections. You will work with the estimating team to align bids with the department program and travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in commercial estimating for a general contractor.
• Experience with take-offs, bids, and cost estimation.
• Familiarity with Outlook, Excel, and Windows.
• On Screen Takeoff experience is preferred.
• Field experience in trades or as a superintendent is a plus.

Role Description

The Construction Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Point Pleasant, NJ. This position is responsible for preparing detailed estimates for commercial construction projects, including reviewing plans and specifications, performing quantity take-offs, and developing accurate cost projections. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing construction plans/documents, performing takeoffs, writing scopes, reviewing subcontractor proposals, and working closely with the estimating team to ensure each bid aligns with the department program. The estimator will also assist with value engineering, participate in bid preparation and presentations, and support cost control efforts throughout the project lifecycle. Strong collaboration, documentation, and construction knowledge are essential to ensure timely and reliable estimates. Position requires some travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• Required: strong skills in commercial construction estimating, take-offs and bid process
• Preferred: field experience working in a trade or as a super
• Required: skills to easily work in Outlook, Excel and Windows
• Preferred: working knowledge of On Screen Takeoff
• Required: 3+ years in commercial estimating for a general contractor
• Preferred: associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field
