Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Estimator or Preconstruction professional in commercial construction.
• Strong knowledge of drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, and exterior cladding systems.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and bid opportunities simultaneously.
• Experience reviewing drawings, specifications, and project scopes.
• Proficient with estimating software and construction management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating and preconstruction activities for commercial projects.
• Manage invitations, bid opportunities, and pipeline tracking systems.
• Prioritize estimating workload with company goals and capacity.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site walkthroughs, and client meetings as required.
• Review drawings, specs, addenda, and project requirements to develop accurate estimates.
• Prepare detailed estimates for drywall, framing, ceilings, and exterior cladding.
• Coordinate vendor and subcontractor pricing and analyze scope coverage.
• Prepare proposals, clarifications, exclusions, and bid submissions.
• Present estimates for internal review and collaborate with leadership.
• Support turnover and startup coordination with operations teams.
• Maintain forecasting, bid tracking, and pipeline reporting.
• Mentor and support junior estimating personnel.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead estimating and preconstruction efforts for a growing commercial construction organization. This individual will play a critical role in securing profitable work, developing strong client relationships, and helping shape the future growth of the preconstruction function. As a key bridge between clients, operations, vendors, and leadership, the Senior Estimator will drive project opportunities from initial invitation through turnover while providing strategic insight into pipeline development and forecasting. This position offers a clear path toward future leadership within the preconstruction organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead estimating and preconstruction activities for commercial construction projects.
• Manage project invitations, bid opportunities, and pipeline tracking systems.
• Prioritize estimating workload in alignment with company goals and operational capacity.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site walkthroughs, and client meetings as required.
• Review drawings, specifications, addenda, and project requirements to develop accurate estimates.
• Prepare detailed estimates for commercial drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, specialty ceilings, and exterior cladding systems.
• Coordinate vendor and subcontractor pricing and analyze scope coverage.
• Prepare proposals, clarifications, exclusions, and bid submissions.
• Present estimates for internal review and collaborate with leadership prior to submission.
• Conduct post-bid follow-up and participate in pricing and contract negotiations.
• Support project turnover and startup coordination with operations teams.
• Maintain accurate forecasting, bid tracking, and pipeline reporting.
• Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, architects, owners, vendors, and industry partners.
• Identify opportunities that align with strategic growth objectives and profitability targets.
• Mentor and support junior estimating and preconstruction personnel.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes, systems, and workflows.

Required / Preferred Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Estimator, Estimator, or Preconstruction professional within commercial construction.
• Strong knowledge of commercial drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, specialty ceiling systems, and exterior cladding systems.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple estimates and bid opportunities simultaneously.
• Experience reviewing construction documents, specifications, and project scopes.
• Strong understanding of vendor and subcontractor procurement processes.
• Proficiency with estimating software and construction management systems.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and client relationship management skills.
• Ability to negotiate pricing and project terms while maintaining positive client relationships.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
