Description

Construction Estimator

This position is responsible for providing accurate full-service estimating and planning services to our customers. This includes working with State DOTs, municipalities, private contractors, and internal stakeholders.

Job Type

Full-Time, Exempt

Schedule: Mon. – Thurs. (Hybrid), 10 hrs. daily; Fridays as needed.

Pay

$50,000 - $75,000 annually, based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction estimates for traffic signals, street lighting, signage, guardrails, and other DOT-related items, utilizing design and construction knowledge.
• Analyze construction challenges and offer solutions efficiently across multiple projects.
• Communicate effectively with team members, government reps, and clients.
• Perform pre-bid site visits to gather critical information.
• Use estimating software (Bid2Win), CAD (AutoCAD), GIS, and other tools.

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction/electrical estimating experience.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Focus on thorough and accurate bids.
• Willingness to work occasional extra hours, including weekends.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Pre-Screening

• Complete and pass pre-employment drug, background, and MVR checks.

Licenses & Certifications

• Valid driver’s license required.

Travel Requirements

• Weekly travel within the state using a company vehicle; some overnight stays.
• Out-of-state travel during training.

Physical Requirements

• Rare physical activities like crawling, climbing, and stooping.
• Occasional activities like standing, lifting, and reaching.
• Frequent walking and continuous speaking, reading, and hearing.
