Job summary

Rose Paving LLC is seeking a motivated Construction Estimator / Project Engineer in California to join our expanding team. The ideal candidate will prepare quantity takeoffs for earthwork, concrete, asphalt, and site development, review plans and specs, and solicit subcontractor quotes.

You will assist with scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration while coordinating with field crews to ensure safe, on-time, within-budget project completion.

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating, project engineering, or project management within the construction industry.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with estimating software is preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs for earthwork, concrete, asphalt, and site development projects.
• Review plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and contract documents.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid proposals.
• Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration.
• Support project managers with submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with field personnel to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
• Track project costs and assist with monthly reporting.
• Participate in preconstruction meetings and site visits.
