Job summary

BLDG Talent in New Jersey seeks an on-site Construction Estimator for commercial and healthcare projects. You will own bids from plans to price, perform full quantity takeoffs, manage sub-solicitation, bid leveling, and assemble proposals for ground-up and healthcare renovation work.

The role requires at least 5 years of estimating for a GC, healthcare estimating experience is a real plus, and you will work directly with the owner and PMs to deliver accurate, timely estimates.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Construction Estimating and Quantity Take-offs, including reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and construction documents.
• Cost management and budgeting experience with detailed estimates, cost breakdowns, and project budgets.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and clients and to document assumptions clearly.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Excel; experience with digital take-off tools and construction management platforms.
• Previous experience as a construction estimator or in pre-construction for general contractors or specialty subcontractors.
• Strong analytical and organizational abilities, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
• Relevant education in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Knowledge of local building codes, materials, labor markets, and trade practices in the New York region is an advantage.

Construction Estimator (On Site) — Commercial & Healthcare [Northern New Jersey]

Our client is a general contractor building commercial and healthcare projects across New Jersey. They need an estimator who can own a bid from plans to price.

What you'll do: full quantity takeoffs, sub-solicitation, bid leveling, and proposal assembly on commercial ground-up and healthcare renovation work. You'll work directly with the owner and PMs.

You should have a minimum of 5 years estimating for a GC. Healthcare estimating experience (infection control, phasing, MEP coordination) is a real plus.
