Job summary

McCourt Construction is a Boston-based general contractor seeking an Estimator to join our team. You will prepare hard-bid cost estimates and design-build proposals for New England's largest and most complex projects, using advanced takeoff and estimating software to deliver accurate bids.

Responsibilities include takeoffs, engineering analysis, subcontractor and supplier outreach, pre-bid and descoping meetings, and project pricing.

Qualifications

• Experience with heavy highway construction estimates.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.

McCourt Construction, a Boston-based diversified General Contractor with a rich history dating back to our founding in 1893, is seeking a driven Estimator to join our team. We pride ourselves on tackling the Northeast's most complex civil projects, with our Heavy Civil Division specializing in large public works projects and our Energy Division focusing on expanding America's most complex projects in the electric, gas, and steam industries.

Our estimating team prepares hard-bid cost estimates and design-build proposals for New England's largest and most complex projects. We use advanced on-screen takeoff and estimating software to streamline the process and deliver the most accurate bids. The estimating team then procures safe, high-quality suppliers and subcontractors to perform the specialty trades. They collaborate with the Project team to finalize a detailed execution plan before turning the Project over. The estimating team operates in a collaborative environment where everyone works together to select the jobs we bid, break them down, prepare the estimate, and submit the bid. Collaboration and teamwork allow our estimating team to bid projects worth hundreds of millions of dollars each year.

Your duties will include takeoffs, engineering analysis, subcontractor and supplier outreach, pre-bid meetings, owner descoping meetings, subcontractor descoping meetings, and project pricing. Each applicant should be able to estimate a job from start to finish with little to no help.

Applicants should have the following qualifications:

• The ability to analyze plans and specs.
• The ability to perform proper takeoffs.
• Experience dealing with heavy highway construction estimates.
• A bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Be computer literate (experience with AutoCAD and other industry-related programs is a plus)
• A desire to work in a team environment and work collaboratively to get the job done.
• Familiarity with MassDOT and MBTA would be preferred.
