Job summary

ACT Construction Equipment is seeking a skilled Construction Equipment Mechanic in Winston-Salem, NC. The role involves performing planned maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic and engine systems, and diagnosing issues to keep equipment in top condition.

Ideal candidates will have experience with construction or compact equipment, knowledge of hydraulic/CAN bus systems, and the ability to use diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• Experience with construction or compact equipment repair.
• Proficient with hydraulic and engine systems; basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Ability to diagnose, repair, and communicate effectively with customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned maintenance on heavy construction equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues across hydraulic, electrical, and engine systems.
• Operate diagnostic tools and software to identify faults and propose solutions.
• Provide high-quality customer service and clear communications.

Requirements

Ideal candidate will have experience working with construction or compact construction equipment repair and the following:

• Working knowledge of hydraulic devices and hydrostatic operating systems
• Electrical/CAN Bus troubleshooting experience
• Working knowledge of gas and diesel engines
• Comfortable using computer technology for diagnostic testing purposes
• Basic welding skills
• Auto A/C system knowledge and experience
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Provide a high level of customer service
• Have full set of mechanics tools and basic electrical test equipment
• CDL or Class B or be eligible to achieve CDL a plus
• Must have acceptable driving record (may need to assist Road tech from time-to-time)
