Job summary

The DC Army National Guard is seeking a Construction Vehicle Repairer to maintain trucks, bulldozers, power shovels, and other heavy equipment used in construction operations. You will diagnose and repair engines, electrical systems, brakes and hydraulic components and help keep missions on schedule.

Training is provided on the job with paid Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training; you will receive a regular paycheck, tuition assistance, a Montgomery GI Bill and other benefits.

Qualifications

Military enlistment in the Army National Guard.
Must be between ages 17 and 35.
Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate.
Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
Citizenship requirements (see NATIONALGUARD.com for details).

Responsibilities

Service drive shafts, universal joints, service brake shoes, water pumps, and turbochargers.
Maintain and replace cylinder heads, high-pressure fuel injection pumps, and road wheels.
Troubleshoot problems in vehicle engines, electrical systems, steering, brakes, and suspensions.
