Job summary

The DC Army National Guard is seeking a Construction Vehicle Repairer to maintain trucks, bulldozers, power shovels, and other heavy equipment used in construction operations. You'll perform repairs and preventive maintenance to keep vehicles mission-ready.

Training combines classroom and field work with paid training and a regular paycheck during drill weekends; benefits include tuition assistance and the Montgomery GI Bill. Enlistment requires meeting basic standards and a physical exam.

Qualifications

• Maintenance experience with heavy machinery is preferred.
• Interest in mechanical and engineering fundamentals.
• Willingness to learn and follow maintenance schedules.

Responsibilities

• Service drive shafts, universal joints, service brake shoes, water pumps, and turbochargers.
• Maintain and replace cylinder heads, high-pressure fuel injection pumps, and road wheels.
