Job summary

Burdick Materials, a CRH Company, is seeking an Equipment Operator to safely and efficiently operate a range of construction equipment at multiple sites. Training may be available to learn specific duties and safety procedures.

You will be responsible for signaling hazards, locating utilities, and maintaining records while complying with trenching and shoring standards. Enthusiastic teamwork and physical fitness are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 1–2 years related experience or training.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain safe slopes on excavations and proper barricading.
• Locate utilities and other buried lines prior to digging.
• Perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
• Knowledge of trenching and shoring standards.
• Keep time and material records.
• Knowledge of aggregate sizes and classifications.
• Knowledge of weight requirements of loads leaving the pit.
• Travel between sites from interstate highways to rural roads.
