Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking an experienced Equipment Manager to oversee the maintenance and readiness of a significant fleet across facilities or regions. You will lead shop and field teams, plan preventive maintenance, and ensure safe, compliant operations that meet project schedules.

Responsibilities include diagnostics, repairs, and data-driven decision making to optimize lifecycle costs, with strong emphasis on supervision, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; trade/technical training preferred.
• Extensive experience managing a large fleet of heavy civil construction equipment.
• Strong supervisory and leadership abilities for field and shop teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and oversee preventative maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
• Supervise shop and field technicians, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
• Coordinate with operations and leadership to align equipment with project schedules.
• Inspect damaged equipment and determine repair vs. replacement actions.
• Ensure compliance with OEM standards and regulatory requirements; manage OEM parts usage.
