Job summary

Carolina Cat is seeking a maintenance technician to troubleshoot, remove, install, replace, rebuild, repair, and test parts and equipment on construction machinery. The role requires hands-on work with vehicles and attachments, including disassembly and reassembly, cleaning, and diagnostic testing.

Responsibilities include reviewing shift schedules, performing inspections, documenting records, and collaborating with Rental Coordinators to deliver fast service to customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to read and comprehend technical data/service manuals.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks; meet torque specs per procedures.

Responsibilities

• Review work schedule at start of shift and prepare for operations.
• Inspect and perform preventive maintenance; change oil, replace filters, belts, coolants, hoses; drain/ refill fuel systems when needed.
• Inspect units coming in or out of rent; document all paperwork per store procedures.

Education

High school diploma/certificate or equivalent

Read, write, speak and understand local language; read and comprehend technical data/service manuals

Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks; torque specifications
