Job summary

FlatironDragados in Sacramento, CA is seeking an Engineering Technician to provide practical technical support to ensure construction work meets codes and contract specifications. You will review production schedules with project crews and ensure materials and resources are available to keep the project on schedule and within budget.

You will assist with shop drawing analysis, material requirements, and project data while contributing to the project work plan.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree or training required.
• 1 year experience preferred.
• Knowledge of drawings, specifications, materials and standards.

Responsibilities

• Review production schedule daily with project crews to ensure timely, on-budget production.
• Assist with shop drawing analysis, design specs, material requirements and project data for quality/contract compliance.
• Provide input for project work plan and scheduling, identify risks to budget/schedule.
• Evaluate daily production, schedule and budget projections; document activities with approved methods.
• Enter and manage project cost coding; coordinate with finance for labor, materials, equipment, and subs.
• Review timecards with payroll and construction supervisors; resolve inquiries as needed.
• Review project specs for QA at all stages; manage certificates, inspections, and related docs.
• Plan field layout and mark utilities; obtain permits as needed before work begins.
• Conduct Job Hazard Analyses; participate in weekly safety meetings and present analyses as needed.
• Coordinate subcontractor methods, schedules and crews as required.
