Job summary

Granite Construction Company is seeking a Construction Estimating Intern to assist operations in interpreting designs and preparing takeoffs and documentation for bids. You will support material calculations, schedules, and cost controls under supervision.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a bachelor's in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, with 0-2 years of related experience and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Ability to perform trigonometric calculations manually or with a calculator.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others and take direction.

Responsibilities

• Interpret design/drawings for takeoff and workforce for bidding and building construction projects.
• Prepare and distribute required documentation such as status reports, punch lists and sketches.
• Support estimating and change orders with drawings and sketches to meet changing job requirements.
• Develop data including quantity take-offs and material pricing for estimates and bids.
• Maintain records of quantities for cost controls on construction projects.
