Job summary

Virginia Paving Company, a Eurovia Atlantic Coast affiliate, is seeking an Engineering Intern to support both office and field tasks, coordinating engineering and construction activities, and assisting with quality control testing. The role includes tracking data, safety initiatives, and involvement in the Quality Control Department.

The position requires basic civil engineering knowledge, PC proficiency, and the ability to communicate with job site supervisors.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recent Civil Engineering student with basic engineering knowledge.
• Proficient in common PC applications and software.
• Able to communicate effectively with field supervisors and teammates.

Responsibilities

• Archive and record correspondence as directed.
• Inspect, sample and test aggregates, asphalt, concrete or other materials for quality control.
• Sample and test mixtures for compliance with specs and quality control tolerance.
• Monitor and test processes to ensure products meet requirements.
• Prepare and record accurate information; maintain test results database.
• Adhere to safety and environmental codes and practices at all times.
• Assist with site visits and participate in safety meetings.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
