Job summary

FV Engineering seeks a licensed Professional Engineer to lead its Construction Engineering & Inspection team across Michigan. You will oversee MDOT, municipal, and county projects, blending project delivery, client management, and staff leadership to grow our construction services.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in construction/engineering, 5+ years in leadership, and a PE license in Michigan. MDOT project experience and strong communication are essential for statewide travel and client

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil/Construction Engineering or related field and a PE license in Michigan (or reciprocity-eligible).
10+ years in construction, engineering, or project management, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
Proven MDOT transportation project delivery experience—roadway, bridge, utility, drainage infrastructure.
Strong communication and client-management skills; valid driver's license for statewide travel.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of construction engineers and inspectors, fostering safety, accountability, and excellence.
Oversee MDOT, county, and municipal projects on schedule, budget, and in compliance with standards.
Manage contract administration, including change orders, claims, and disputes.
Serve as senior client contact for MDOT and local agencies, growing relationships and pursuing opportunities.
Ensure compliance with MDOT/AASHTO/FHWA standards and promote continuous improvement.
