About the Role:
Giffels-Webster Engineers (GWE) is hiring a Construction Engineer for a multi-year septic-to-sewer project in Ruskin, FL. This full-time, on-site CEI (Construction Engineering Inspection) role involves daily utility inspections, contractor coordination, and support of project engineering tasks during construction. Ideal for an EI, project engineer, or experienced field inspector with hands-on utility experience—not just office-based work.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform field inspections for vacuum, gravity, and force mains
Coordinate with contractors, inspectors, and the Engineer of Record
Review and track RFIs, submittals, test results, and pay apps
Monitor construction compliance with plans, specs, and permits
Support project engineering with field data, reports, and technical input
Assist with punch list, closeout, and as-built documentation
Qualifications:
Experience in water/sewer utility construction or CEI is preffered
Must have direct field experience (not just design or office support)
EI but not required
Strong skills in communication, documentation, and coordination
Familiarity with municipal/public infrastructure projects is a plus
